The nominations for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards were announced today. The awards show will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2010.
The 10 best picture nominees are:
“Up in the Air”
“Up”
“Avatar”
“The Blind Side”
“District 9”
“An Education”
“The Hurt Locker”
“Inglourious Basterds”
“Precious, Based on the Novel, ‘Push’ by Sapphire”
“A Serious Man”
Now is the time to check out these movies if you wish to see them before the awards show!
The most nominated films this year are “Avatar” and “The Hurt Locker” with nine nominations each. Ironically, the directors of each of these films, James Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow are ex-spouses (just a little piece of Oscar trivia!).
