It is about growing old without settling their complications. This is a captivating motion picture, with Shearer at her talented best. The cast list includes Norma Shearer, Clark Gable, Might Robson, Maureen O’Sullivan, Robert Youthful, Ralph Morgan, Henry B. Walthall, and Alexander Kirkland. (110 minutes, 1932)
Encino Man: When Stoney and Dave are digging a hole in Dave’s backyard for a swimming pool., they come across, a primitive man, frozen in a block of ice. When the ice thaws, the primitive man, they name Link, comes to life. Can Link learn to live in the modern world?
Ace Ventura, Pet Detective: This movie is directed by Tom Shadyac. This is a naturally madcap Jim Carey comedy. He is cast as Ace Ventura, a pet detective. The mascot of the Miami Dolphins has been kidnapped, and it is up to Ace Ventura to break the case. Jim Carrey, Courtney Cox. And Sean Young star. (1994 Comedy)
In God We Trust: Uninformed friar Feldman treks to Los Angeles. to raise money for his monastery. This movie is a comedy that is tragically not funny starring Richard Pryor, who plays God. Cast includes Marty Feldman, Peter Boyle, Louise Lasser, Richard Pryor, Andy Kaufman, Wilfrid Hyde-White, and Severn Darden. (97 minutes, 1984)
The Leading Man: British backstage show romantic movie in regards to an American film superstar who seduces a playwright’s unhappy wife and his leading-woman mistress. When it might not make up its mind whether it’s a comedy tirade or a light thriller, it’s still very hilarious stuff. Bon Jovi is excellent as the impetuous, immoral Yankee, and Galiena and Newton are fetching as the females snared in his web. Cast includes Jon Bon Jovi, Anna Galiena, Lambert Wilson, Thandie Newton, Barry Humphries, and David Warner. (100 minutes, 1997)
The General: One of Keaton’s greatest silent films, setting comedy opposite to real Civil Battle story of a stolen train, and Union spies. Not as fanciful as other Keaton films, although delightfully finished. Cast includes Buster Keaton, Marion Mack, Glen Cavender, Jim Farley, and Joseph Keaton. (100 minutes, 1984)
Down to Earth: Homer Croy’s continuation to “They had to See Paris” has newly riche Midwesterner Rogers setting an end to his family’s mindless investing by affirming that he’s broke. Not one of Will Roger’s best film attempts. Cast includes Can Rogers, Irene Opulent, Dorothy Jordan, and Mary Carlisle. (73 minutes, 1932)
