Fans of the novelist Patricia Cornwell will be happy to hear that finally Kay Scarpetta, the signature character created by Patricia Cornwell may be coming soon to the big screen.
Kay Scarpetta is a medical examiner in 17 mystery novels by Patricia Cornwell. For almost 2 decades various movie studios have attempted to bring the character to the big screen. However, recent interest by Angelina Jolie—who really does fit the part well, if you have read the book—has revived interest in making the movie franchise.
This will be the first time that a book by Patricia Cornwell has been adapted to a movie, which is exceptionally rare for a best selling author that has been as popular and sold as many books as she has.
Shooting for the film could begin as early as Fall 2010.
