I was listening to Coast to Coast AM today when the host said that he had seen Avatar over the weekend and didn’t like. He went on to say he gets it now when somebody says that they don’t get it after watching Star Trek, because he did not “get it” after seeing Avatar.
Today I was on the Internet and I read that Avatar has just shot past Star Wars and is now the No. 3 movie on the all-time domestic box office charts.
The sci-fi saga took in $41.3 million over the weekend, making the movies domestic total to $491.8 million. So what did it do Worldwide you ask?, Drum roll it has grossed $1.5 billion.
Now Avatar’s next stop is to take out “The Dark Knight,” which is No. 2 domestically with $533.3 million. After that, only Cameron’s “Titanic” at $600 million will remain ahead of “Avatar” domestically.
