Box Office Records For 2009

by Kevis on January 6, 2010

In 2009, movie ticket sales for the U.S. and Canada were up over the previous year of 2008.

$1.41 billion admissions were recorded for the year just ended compared to 1.36 billion in the year 2009. However, ticket sales were short of beating the all-time record of 1.60 billion that was set in 2002 even after accounting for an estimated 4.5% increase in ticket prices due to the upcharges in 3D venues.

At year’s end the average movie ticket price was up to $7.50.

1 – Transformers 2 $402.077 Paramount
