Double Wedding: Loy’s orchestration of her sis’s marriage ceremony is upset by the presence of free spirited bohemian Powell. The megastars are the entire show in this alternatively disheartening adaptation of Ferenc Molnar’s play Incredible Love. Last summer: Commanding tale based on Evan Hunter novel of adolescents playing on the shore in a summer resort. The film follows their games, sensual awakenings, and how evil materializes itself with incredible determination. Cathy Bums was a standout. Buck Privates: Un-contemporary although engaging Army opus with Bud and Lou inadvertently registering. Brassy melodies (containing Andrews Sister’s “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”) and subplots get in the way, however A&C’s regimens are amid their best; their first featuring film.
