In 1963, Elizabeth Taylor portrayed Cleopatra in one of the most expensive films of the day. Her real-life love Richard Burton played Marc Anthony.
And now, a new film about Cleopatra is being developed with Angelina Jolie as the main character. In fact, a spokesman for the producer, Scott Rudin, confirmed that “The movie is being developed for and with Jolie”.
Not only that they are hoping to land Brad Pitt, Jolies significant other, for the role of Marc Anthony.
The 1963 film of Cleopatra cost more than $44 million at the time, which when adjusted to today’s prices would make it more than $300 million.
