In the interest of full disclosure I have to admit, I hated the book. Absolutely hated it.
My take on it is…
“Self-absorbed narcissist convinces publishing company to give her a humongous advance so she can travel around the world whining and reveling in her misery until she finds love at the end ”
(but I must admit that it paid off rather handsomely for the publishing company, smart move on their part).
But apparently I was the only one who felt that way as the book “Eat, Pray, Love” spent an astounding 158 weeks on the bestseller lists.
Hmmm, 158 weeks….maybe I’m just jealous that I’ve never created that kind of success in my own life….
hmmm….nope, I hated the book, absolutely hated it.
But that is not the point and now that that is out of the way…..
“Eat, Pray, Love” is now a movie. The trailer is out and the movie will be released on August 13, 2010.
Julia Roberts goes blond to step into the lead role of Elizabeth Gilbert. Add in a couple of pretty boys, James Franco (yeah, he’s easy on the eyes), Billy Crudup and Javier Bardem and there you have it.

Who knows, maybe the movie will be better than the book…..can’t be much worse!!
Oh, wait. Sorry. Apparently millions upon millions of people loved it….or maybe they just started reading the story and couldn’t look away, kind of like a train wreck.
