Fix The Red Ring Of Death At Home

by Cindy Bartina on May 8, 2009

I’m quite sure if you are taking the time to read this article then you are familiar with the infamous red ring of death that’s associated with the Xbox 360. In case you aren’t familiar the red ring of death it’s when three red lights flash continuously on the Xbox console.

The Xbox 360 has been connected to numerous problems but today I’ll tell you different ways that I have heard how to fix the Red Ring of Death. Remember that I guarantee none of these solutions. If you try any of these methods it is at your own risk, okay?! This is just a guide to let you know of the available solutions besides, trashing it or selling it at a garage sale.

Our first suggestion is that you call the manufacturer. Who better to fix the system than those that made it, Microsoft? You should do this especially if your warranty is still valid. If your warranty is valid and you try some of the fix ‘em up home methods on your console the warranty becomes null and void. That just simply means that it’s no longer worth the paper it’s written on.

Our second suggestion is that you try to “fix it with towels”. (WARNING: this can cause serious and final error on you console!) The towel trick as it’s called all over the webs is when you take a few heavy towels and wrap your console in them while it’s on (take out the controllers) lay the console on a smooth surface. For some reasons wrapping the Xbox in towels causes it to heat and things that have come apart fuse back together.

You keep your console wrapped and on for at least fifteen minutes. When the fifteen minutes have passed turn the system off and wait for fifteen more minutes to allow the system to cool down. Once you’ve done this turn it back on and if you are lucky than you’re done and you should have all green lights.

Our third suggestion is Plug It Out! I know you probably don’t understand what I’m saying but check this out a lot of people have written in and said they were able to sufficiently handle the problems of their Xbox 360′s by unplugging every cord that went to the system, keep pulling them out until you only have the console sitting there. After this you turn the system back on. If it comes back on then you turn it off again and plug everything back in and the system should work.

Finally the best solution is this step by step guide that I’ve found recently. With this guide it was nothing to fix the red ring of death. I highly recommend you to check this out, you gonna love it.
