Is Ex-Wife Entitled?

by Kevis on August 25, 2010

Michael Douglas has a new sequel to one of his biggest films coming out on September 24. “Wall Street” was one of his most popular movies ever and the sequel, “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” promises to be great too. Charlie Sheen is also set to reprise his starring role.

But the problem for Michael Douglas is that his ex-wife Diandra Douglas is claiming in court that she is entitled to half of his earnings from “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps”.

Diandra claims that their 1990 divorce deal gives her the rights to share in the proceeds from any spinoffs from work he did while they were married, which, of course, includes the huge 1987 hit “Wall Street”.

Micheal Douglas’ legal team is claiming that his ex-wife is misinterpreting the agreement and that it does not apply to the “Wall Street” sequel. They are also claiming that the New York court where the case was introduced is inappropriate and that the case belongs in California where the couple got divorced.

The judge has yet to rule.
