Are big names and catchy tunes a recipe for surefire success at the box office?
Apparently not, as the huge production “Nine” starring such notables as Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Judy Dench, Sophia Loren, Kate Hudson and Fergie has opened to little fanfare at the box office.
In fact, rumors were circulating that the Weinstein Company, who released the movie were planning to pull the movies from theaters due to the public’s lack of interest. However, the studio has denied that this is the case.
The film has received five Golden Globe nods, yet the overall critical response has been low and the film continues to receive bad press.
