Take A Look At History With “Taking Woodstock” Available Now

by Kevis on December 20, 2009

2009 marked the 40th anniversary of one of the most memorable rock concerts in history. Over 500,000 people braved rain and crowds as they gathered in at Max Yasgur’s Farm in Bethel, NY on August 15-18, 1960 for a celebration of peace and music.

While it started as a paid event, as time went on and so many people showed up, most everyone got in for free.

“Taking Woodstock” is based upon the memoir of Elliot Tibor, a young gay man who inadvertently helped to make the most famous rock concert in history come alive, The Woodstock Music and Arts Festival from 1969. Based upon the book of the same name, the movie is directed by Ang Lee.
