The Informant – coming to theaters on September 18th is a dark comedy thriller film, directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Matt Damon is based on the 2000 non fiction book The Informant, by journalist Kurt Eichenwald. The film stars Matt Damon, Scott Bakula, Joel McHale and Melanie Lynskey.
Whitacre (Matt Damon) turns whistleblower on the company his making 350 g’s a year with. He exposes his companys multi-national price-fixing conspiracy to the FBI, Whitacre thinks himself being hailed as a hero of the common man and calls himself 0014, twice as smart as James Bond, you just know his in for some trouble. But before all that can happen, the FBI needs evidence, so Whitacre eagerly agrees to wear a wire and carry a hidden tape recorder in his briefcase. The trailer is funny make sure to watch it.
The film is produced by Gregory Jacobs, Jennifer Fox, Michael Jaffe, Howard Braunstein and Kurt Eichenwald. George Clooney, Jeff Skoll and Michael London served as executive producers, with Michael Polaire co-producing.
