In the weekend box office for the week ending September 5th, 2010 in the number one spot was “The American” with George Clooney, bringing in a total of $12,968,000.
In the second place spot was “Takers” with $11,450,000.00.
“Machete” came in at a very close 3rd place with $11,300,000.00
“The Last Exorcism” and the new Drew Barrymore, Justin Long chick flick “Going the Distance” came in at fourth and fifth place respectively.
Since Labor Day is on Monday, it may be expected to raise the profits with people going to the movies on their day off.
